The folks in Congress are really making me want to become part of the movement to through them all out. I think it actually has a name like, Throw the Bums Out.
First, they are all sucking up to Roger Clemens and going for every photo op they can get. Looks good in the home town papers.
Now they are trying to manage the ratings. This from Fox Sports:
“The committee can use Pettitte’s deposition during the hearing and ask Clemens or McNamee about anything in Pettitte’s testimony. It also will be part of the public record of the hearing.
Sparing him a trip to Capitol Hill appears to be a sign committee members believe Pettitte cooperated fully with their investigation, and that they do not need any more testimony from him. A source also said Pettitte was not a great witness in that his answers sometimes contradicted each other, and there was some fear of putting him in front of the committee with a national television audience watching.”
Don’t we, the public, have a right to see how credible Andy Pettitte sounds giving testimony? After all we are the ones paying for this human growth hormone, performance enhanced side show.
Thank God the writers strike appears to be ending. Now we can start watching real fiction again.
This truth stuff makes the plot of Lost seem simple.
