Secretagogue Gold An HGH Review

February 14th, 2008 · 159 Comments

This is another from Maximum Performance ( MHP ) and Dr. Vincent C. Giampapa. We have previously done a review of their natural hgh releaser Secretagogue One.

What is a secretagogue?  It is any substance that causes the body to naturally release more hormones.

This time we have a solid list of ingredients:

Secretagogue Augmenting Factors: ( fancy term for growth hormone releasers) 5,220 mg
+ Glycine
+ L-glutamine
+ L-tyrosine
+ GABA
+ L-citruline
+ Alpha GPC (glycerlphophorylcholine)
+ Pyroglutamic  acid
+ L-lysine (as L-Lysine HCL)
+ Broad bean (l-dopa)

Right there is a great gh stack.  The only part we do not like is the lack of disclosure of the exact amount of each ingredient.

Secretagogue Modulating Complex:  486 mg
Hepatic Restoration Factors: ( fancy term for liver support)
+ Choline (as choline bitarate)
+ Inositol
+ Milk Thistle extract (80% silymarin)
+ Shitake mushroom extract
+ Maitake mushroom extract
+ Reishi mushroom extract
Glycation Regulation Factors: (fancy term for a form of sugar regulation)
+ Banaba leaf extract
+ Alpha lipoic acid
+ Chromium (as chromium dinicotinate glycinate)
Pituitary Support & IGF-1 Co-Factors: (just a fancy term)  245 mg
+ Magnesium oxide
+ Niacin
+ Zinc citrate
+ D-calcium pantothenate (pantothenic acid)
+ Pyridoxine HCL
+ Manganese sulfate
+ Thiamin HCL
+ Folic acid
+ Cyanocobalamin

Yes that is a lot of different things.  In this case, they are a lot of good things and theoretically in good amounts.  Once again, we think that as consumers, we should have a right to know exactly what we are taking.

On a lighter note, this is one of those products that we took the ingredients off the box.  We bought 3 boxes and rationed it to our guinea pigs.   Everybody liked it.

One person liked Secretagogue One better.   Eight people liked this product best.  All were upset that I was forcing them to try something different.

The main difference, in the releaser formulation, between the two products is that Secretagogue One has anterior pituitary  and Secretagogue Gold uses Alpha GPC.  Alpha GPC is a form of choline that has been clinically proven to release growth hormone.  We wish they made a product with both.

This is a fine product.  The suggested retail price is $89.99.  However, you can buy this hgh supplement online for $44.00.  If you cycle your product based on a five days on and two days off schedule, one box lasts for 1 ½  months.  That is an effective cost of only $30.00. A good deal.

We have to mark the product down because of lack of full disclosure on the amounts of each ingredient in this proprietary formulation.

Secretagogue Gold receives a product rating of B+.

You speak of STACKING! Just exactly what is STACKING and the purpose?

  • 2 hgh truths // Feb 16, 2008 at 3:39 pm

We added stacking to our list of posts to write. We will try to have at least a short version done by Wednesday.

Basically it is the combining of different human growth hormone releasing agents into one hgh supplement.

  • 3 brian // Mar 3, 2008 at 9:36 pm

what is the site i order the secretagogue gold for $40.

  • 4 hgh truths // Mar 4, 2008 at 8:56 am

    Brian,
Sites are constantly changing their prices. You need to do a search on google or try nextag to find the best current prices to buy hgh.

  • 5 Rich // Mar 16, 2008 at 5:35 am

Thank you!!!!! I was searching all of the ‘crap’ websites which listed the same products over and over with no real reviews. Until I found this one. Ok so now that I am centering on Secretagogue gold is there a reason I can buy anterior pituitary (75mg) and add it to this product?

Thanks again for sorting out the truth! Way to go!
    How do we support you?

  • 6 admin // Mar 16, 2008 at 8:38 am

    Rich,
    You are welcome.

There is no reason you can’t go buy some anterior pituitary and take it also. I would suggest trying the Secretagogue Gold alone first then mix in the pituitary. This is just so you can know how it effects you.

We will eventually do a few posts on how you can combine some different products together and get higher level results.

First there are more reviews to post.

As far as suport goes, any book marking or social media mentions that you feel like doing are greatly appreciated.

  • 7 Rich // Mar 16, 2008 at 11:08 am

Brian, I don’t want to wear out my welcome. I am going to try secretagogue gold by itself (ordered already). Am I correct that pituitary gland as in RAW PITUITARY CONCENTRATE (BOVINE ORIGIN) is the same as anterior pituitary gland?

  • 8 admin // Mar 16, 2008 at 7:38 pm

The concentrate is a stronger than straight pituitary. There is also a more specific peptide complex but I do not know of any company that sells it on its own.

    Questions are always welcome.

  • 9 Rich // Mar 18, 2008 at 12:13 pm

Brian, is there a gain or loss to increasing the frequency of the dosages? I like to take stuff before my workouts. So should I take a dose (on an empty stomach) at 4 PM. Possibly take it in the morning 2 hrs before I eat breakfast? My thinking is that this is a relatively cheap product to be on if it can actually increase GH production. So I don’ t think that the cost per serving should be a limiting factor. Just the effect per serving. Have any of your testers played with the dosages and noted any effects?

  • 10 admin // Mar 18, 2008 at 3:06 pm

There would be no loss but there should be some gain. How much really depends on you. Age being the biggest factor. The older you are the more the gain because older people are starting from lower growth hormone levels.

The best time to take the product is at bedtime on an empty stomach. Second best is in the morning at least an hour before eating.

A minimum of 30 minutes before a workout on an empty stomach would come in third.

I use value per serving when grading products. This takes into account both effect and price.

One of my testers is in the middle of a three month cycle and using a product before bedtime and just as he wakes up. Says he is feeling great and getting excellent benefits from his workouts. Age 47.

I personally have played around with different combinations of dozens ingredients.

After more information is built into the base posts of this website, I will do some writing about various ideas for different products to take for assorted reasons at varying times of day.

  • 11 Rich // Mar 18, 2008 at 4:07 pm

I am also 50 and researching this pretty heavily. Which is how I got to you. I intend to follow your 47 yr olds pattern. At bedtime and at wakeup. I will chime in here every once and while, both to look for your advice and possible upgrades as well as to provide my anecdote.

    Thanks!

  • 12 admin // Mar 18, 2008 at 9:26 pm

The only additional advice I have is that if this is your first time working with hgh supplements, take your time. Just take it once per day for the first month and maybe the whole first three month cycle.

Be patient. You will end up with better results in the long run.

  • 13 Jason // Mar 23, 2008 at 1:19 pm

While researching HGR for the last two hours and finding only amino acid ingredients in most of the products, your website finally gave me the trusted information I needed to make a decision on which product to purchase. I am a forty one year old weight lifter searching for a non anabolic direction to take to obtain the results I am looking for. Any stacking suggestions would be appreciated.

  • 14 admin // Mar 24, 2008 at 7:40 am

Since you are commenting here I am going to assume you are planning on buying this product.

Secretagogue Gold is already a stack. The first suggestion would be to just take it for a month leaving the rest of your routine stable.

This gives you a base line for developing a program.

What I have done in the past is add 2 grams of OKG at bedtime three days per week. Just swallow the capsules with the Gold.

Another thing that I have found effective is a combination of arginine and niacin in a 5 to 1 ratio. Take this 30 minutes before a workout on an empty stomach. Start with 500 mg of arginine to 100 mg niacin. Increase up to 4 times that amount.

You want straight niacin here not the no flush variety.

Remember to look at this as a program over time. If you try to just boost your hgh levels in one big shot your body fights back. If you cycle and vary how you are pushing, you end up with better results.

  • 15 Jason // Mar 24, 2008 at 4:12 pm

I already take arginine and glutamine. I will incorporate niacin into my routine. What is OKG? I appreciate the advice you have given so far. Any comments on Acetyl-l-carnitine? Thanks again.

  • 16 admin // Mar 24, 2008 at 8:40 pm

OKG stands for Ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate. Works better than either ornithine or glutamine.

I associate Acetyl-l-carnitine more with non-stimulant fat loss and antioxidant support.

Most important part about the arginine and niacin is the timing.

  • 17 Jason // Mar 24, 2008 at 9:20 pm

I have ordered the secretagogue gold and I will
follow your suggestions and keep you informed of my progress.

  • 18 Mariane // Mar 30, 2008 at 7:24 pm

Thanks for good reviews but gosh it took me time to get to this page. All I was getting were bad reviews.
Maybe you can arrange your topics in a way we can tell what is top in your recommendation and what is bottom.

But thanks for your good work.
For a 52 year old female what would you recommend on top of the secretagogue gold?

  • 19 Johnny // Mar 30, 2008 at 11:09 pm

Is taking MHP Secretagogue Gold any benefit to some one thats not into weight training, just cardio and standard push ups and crunches, I’m 53.
    John

  • 20 admin // Mar 31, 2008 at 6:50 am

I would put my money on there potentially being a greater benefit to you. People doing the right kind of weight training tend to have higher hgh levels anyway.

The people who will get the greatest benefit from using Secretagogue Gold or any of the best hgh stacking products, are those that haven’t been exercising enough, are around 50, and have a bit of the middle aged spread starting.

At 53 and being in decent shape, you should notice better performance and a feeling of greater physical well being in 1 to 4 months.

  • 21 admin // Mar 31, 2008 at 7:16 am

    Mariane,

One problem is that there are so many bad products out there. We have been brainstorming ways to have people find the better reviews faster. We also feel it is important for people to read some of the bad reviews in order to understand the difference.

I think we are going to start with a page that lists all the reviews. Haven’t quite figured out how we want to mark them.

Broad sugestions for women are tough. You have a much more fluid hormone cycle.

The one thing I can definitely recommend is a good antioxidant. Not just the basic Vitamin C.
Something with Alpha Lipoic acid and COQ10.

I am also a firm believer in the greens. Spirulina, chlorella, kamut, etc. Just try to find something that hasn’t been mixed with a whole bunch of herbs.

  • 22 Nate // Mar 31, 2008 at 1:53 pm

Hey i have been reading all sorts of reviews on your site and im thinking this Secretagogue Gold is the best HGH supplement for the cost, but im 19 and mainly focusing on height increase as the main reason for taking HGH. Also i am a competitive basketball player and have great knee pain after games, icing and supplements like glucosamine and MSM have been my main treatment but would HGH help this also?

  • 23 admin // Mar 31, 2008 at 9:01 pm

Secretagogue Gold does top the list of the reviews we have done so far. However, it is pretty much a waste of money for a 19 year old.

Not a bad health thing just nowhere near the impact a 40 year old, who is deficent in growth hormone, will experience.

Costco sells a liquid glucosamine, chondriton and MSM product that is the best I have seen. I know people that have seen great results. I think the manufacturers name is Symtec.

Chlorella might also be helpful. There is a killer liquid version but it is something north of $100 per bottle.

  • 24 Nate // Apr 1, 2008 at 3:08 am

Thanks Admin, but i am having a difficult time finding a non scam website for HGH products, and if secretagogue gold has one could you pass the link, also thanks for the info on liquid glucosamine that sounds perfect!

  • 25 admin // Apr 1, 2008 at 7:05 pm

The manufacturers website does not contain much info. You can buy Secretagogue Gold from any number of reliable on line retailers such as the Vitamin Shoppe or Vitacost. Yahoo also has some highly rated merchants.

  • 26 BEAU GESTE // Apr 5, 2008 at 3:21 am

Very happy to have found this site.

If you build it , the right people will show up.

To get an incredible boost in energy , you should all try “35% food grade hydrogen peroxide.”

The best is sold at Guardian of Eden.

I take 3 to 7 drops a day in a glass of water as a maintenance. I started with one drop per day. You wil notice a big difference within 14 days. of starting. You will need less sleep than before.

You can all read about the benefits of this product in the book “FLOOD YOUR BODY WITH OXYGEN” by Ed Mccabe.

If you are into endurance sports, this is the 1 % advantage you will gain to make you finnish 10th instead of 25th in a 40 mile bike race.

If I try this Secretagogue Gold, it might put me in the top 5 in my next race. Bonne chance.

  • 27 admin // Apr 5, 2008 at 8:40 am

Glad you like the site. It is nice to be able to make someone happy.

We have pissed of quite a few people. But, we didn’t build the site for them.

McCabe’s oxygen concepts have always been intriguing. I’ll let our readers do their own research on the subject.

  • 28 Sander // Apr 11, 2008 at 10:59 pm

I turned 20 on the 10th and like Nate am looking at hgh supplements in order to squeeze out the most I can at the tail end of my growing. The website says that secretagogue gold is for those 35 and older, is it possible I could damage myself or cause negative side effects by taking this? I understand I will not see the marked results an older man will but i want to see if I can stimulate my body to give me that last inch and reach 6′0″. If I were to start taking secretagogue gold would there be any particular guidelines I should follow or other supplements I should take in conjunction given my age? I am interested in hgh supplementation but I am not willing to take it if I could cause any bodily damage later on like cancer or glandular atrophy. At present I have just recently started taking hawthorn extract in order to assist in circulation and Gold Standard whey protein to drink after my workouts. I also drink goji juice in varying amounts daily.

  • 29 hgh truths // Apr 12, 2008 at 8:31 am

    Sander,

Secretagogue Gold clearly says on the top of the package, ” Advanced Age management System”.

The chances of you growing taller taking this hgh supplement are very slim.

The chances of seeing any great workout gains from this hgh releaser are slim.

The chances of any negative side effects from taking this hgh product are equally slim.

We just want to make sure that younger people understand that a lot of the marketing hype about these hgh supplements is just that, HYPE.

That being said, you are an adult. Free to make your own choices. We just want to make sure you do it based on honest information.

A good thing for everyone to add to a vitamin program is a combination of spirulina and chlorella. Avoid those products that have all kinds of extra herbs thrown in.

The short term benefits aren’t that huge but you will be thanking me when you turn 50.

  • 30 Scott // Apr 17, 2008 at 6:58 am

    Admin,
It’s refreshing to come across this site. You are obviously very knowledgeable about the subject.

    I have a few questions:
This product appears to be a leader, you marked it down for non-disclosure of ingredient amounts, which I tend agree with. But to what extent can the varying ratios and amounts determine the effectiveness of these products?

So for example, in your opinion, if there are two products, each with identical ingredients but vastly different amounts, would this effect the level to which the products deliver on the same promise?

And following that, what criteria are you using to rate these products? Is it the extent to which the product adheres to it’s claimed benefits? And if so, how do you measure this? Is it against known clinical trials with the product in question - or just the individual ingredients? Is there an element of anecdotal conclusion involved when issuing your rating?

Again, thank you for this site, I’m sure you’re more than aware of the difficulty one encounters in researching a subject so vulnerable to Internet scams. I imagine you are ruffling quite a few feathers of the deceitful.

I shall be submitting this site to social bookmarking sites.

    Scott.

  • 31 admin // Apr 17, 2008 at 9:16 pm

    Scott,

The ratio can make a big difference. Different amino acids require different dosages and some combinations can interfere with each other. Also a gh stack really needs to have at least one of the amino acids to be at or near the minimum amount required if that amino acid was used alone.

Some of the non amino acids ingredients could also be named on the label but only be present in window dressing amounts.

The rating is based on a combination of having the right ingredients and the value. We are biased toward the effectiveness for anti-aging as opposed to bodybuilding. Basically most products are just on the beginning of the power scale that most hardcore body builders are looking for.

There are so few products that are going to be anywhere near their claimed benefits. Most of them are trying to claim the same benefits as injectable hgh. Actually, it is more accurate to say that the are claiming the benefits of prescription hgh as their own.

I don’t know of a single hgh supplement on the market that has any real, verifiable, clinical trials. There are not even that many real decent studies on the pharmaceuticals.

So we stick mostly to having the right ingredients. When we find products that look good , we also do some personal testing. There is enough experience around here that a week or two on a product is enough to know if it is working or not.

The only anecdotal evidence we use is from our guinea pig group and reports from people we know personally.

Your welcome and all social bookmarking is greatly appreciated.

A little note to any of the deceitful whose feathers are being ruffled. One of our next steps is going to be using the adsense revenue to have some of the products lab tested. So don’t think just slapping up a product with the right ingredients is going to get you very far.

  • 32 Scott // Apr 21, 2008 at 12:29 am

    Thank you Admin,
Great idea with the lab testing. I’ll be visiting your site for updates.
    Scott.

  • 33 Sam // Apr 21, 2008 at 6:34 am

Is there anything wrong with taking this product at 17 years old? Just for the muscle/fat part, not the anti-aging?

  • 34 Scott J // Apr 21, 2008 at 11:58 am

Hi - thanks for all of these reviews.

I haven’t found on your site a review on the “Universal GH Stack” product, so wonder if you have any comments on that.

Also - any comments on the use / effectiveness of these products on endurance athletes - triathletes / runners etc.

    Thanks!

  • 35 admin // Apr 21, 2008 at 2:23 pm

    Scott,

I think the lab testing will be lots of fun.

    Sam,

Nothing wrong with taking it but do not expect big results. You are in the peak zone for natural hgh production and supplements just will not give you a lot of kick. however, the ingredients can’t hurt your overall health.

    Scott J,

We have a draft of a review for Universal GH Stack. We will post it this week. I’ll shoot for tomorrow.

I personally have always been more of a fitness endurance athlete than a weight lifter. my favorite exercise was running barefoot in the sand.

During my early days playing with hgh products, I used to take a strong hgh stack at the beginning of a run and another hgh concoction at the end. there were some amazing 12 mile runs were it felt like I was just floating. My recovery time was almost nothing. Went back out the next day and did it again.

  • 36 Scott J // Apr 21, 2008 at 3:48 pm

Hi - thanks, I’ll look for the review. It has been reccomended to me, as well as another product from somalife called GHP sport, which comes in capsule form. The people reccomending both of these products to me have similiar comments around being able to do their long runs / cycling with a much easier recovery, and improved performance during the workout. This site has been helpful, as most of what I find on the net is advertising, whcih of course is all positive.

  • 37 admin // Apr 21, 2008 at 6:04 pm

We have a draft of a review for GHP Sport also. I will add it to this week’s list. I will give you a three word sneak peak.

    “Significantly over priced.”

  • 38 Mike // Apr 22, 2008 at 5:24 pm

    Hi,

If I were interested in this for strictly looking better/losing weight would this be worth taking? I am 34 years old, 6ft, about 210lbs and run only about 5-10 miles a week for exercise. I would love to get down to about 180 lbs with something like this product. Would you recommend it?

    Thanks!

  • 39 admin // Apr 22, 2008 at 6:08 pm

    It will help.

Up the exercise a notch to say 10-15 miles per week. Maybe add in a little Acetyl-l-carnitine and/or hoodia while managing the eating.

I was a victim of suburban dad syndrome and have trimmed of 20 lbs. this year.

  • 40 Bill // Apr 22, 2008 at 7:46 pm

I’m I meant stacking it w/ secretagogue gold or would that be redundant?

  • 41 Bill // Apr 22, 2008 at 7:50 pm

My main goal is to lose weight and increase lean muscle mass so would i use okg and the secretagogue gold? And if so which brand of okg would you recommend?

  • 42 Bill // Apr 22, 2008 at 8:12 pm

What is Life Renewal’s hgh website ?

  • 43 Kevin // Apr 23, 2008 at 6:20 am

I noticed that alot of the amino acids in this product(and many other hgh products)are the same as the ones in the whey protein powder I take. Can whey protein help with hgh production?

  • 44 admin // Apr 23, 2008 at 6:54 pm

    Bill,

I would recommend taking just the Secretagogue Gold by itself when you first start. See what that does for you and then consider if you want to add anything else.

I would use a brand from any reputable company. I think I have Jarrow and Source Naturals on my shelf at the moment. But there are several other equally good brands.

I believe the website is in the comments section of the Life Renewal Review.

    Kevin,

The amino acids listed on the whey protein package are the ones that combine together to form whey.

While there is some evidence that taking protein after a workout helps slightly raise hgh levels, it is not the same thing as taking the individual free form amino acids on an empty stomach.

  • 45 David // May 1, 2008 at 8:48 pm

Instead of reviewing these hgh products for their benefits, why don’t you tell us the best formula and the amounts of each supplement you believe to increase hgh the most so we can try to purchase them either individually or in combinations to add up to the formula you think is most beneficial! I have personally wasted plenty of money trying some of the products you have already reviewed. If I could make up my own on a daily basis I would like to try. Thanks, David

  • 46 admin // May 2, 2008 at 6:01 am

We figure that the reviews do a large number of people a big service by keeping them from wasting money on some of worthless products.

Eventually we are going to talk in depth about all the different ingredients and ways to combine them.

  • 47 Jeff // May 13, 2008 at 10:48 pm

Thank you for your website. This has been the most truthful and helpful site I have found.

I have looked at the ingredients from various supplements. Many list L-arginine, which I noticed at the top of the ingredient lists (a main ingredient). In Secretagogue Gold it is not listed at all. What does this mean as far as this gh stack? Is the benefits of L-arginine made up with a different amino acid?

You also talk about cycling the product - 5 days taking it, then 2 days off. Is there a difference in overall feeling, amount of energy and other benefits from cycling the product versus taking it every day? Should you also cycle long term with this product, like 5 months taking it, then 1 or 2 months off? Does long term effect wear off or decrease without taking a break from this product?

    Thank you for your help.

  • 48 admin // May 14, 2008 at 8:36 am

There are a number of different ways you can build an hgh stack. Some start with arginine and Secretagogue Gold starts with glycine. Either approach can get you where you want to go.

The problem with many products is that they list a whole bunch of amino acids but there is no way that the product contains enough to do any good. Some products don’t even have the minimum amount of any one amino acid.

Here it is easy to see that the minimum amount of glycine could be used and still have room for the minimum amounts of enough other ingredients for the product to be effective.

Cycling is a longer discussion. I will see that a draft of a post on basic cycling gets a final edit and put on the site this week.

  • 49 Nicolas // May 18, 2008 at 3:30 pm

Hey guys! Im a big fan of your site and have been researching the right HGH formula to take as an athlete. I am looking for a great product that will help me in the weight room and on in competition. I was considering Secretagogue Gold as my choice… a good one? Please help me out guys! Thanks!

  • 50 admin // May 20, 2008 at 5:36 pm

Secrtagogue Gold is as good as any product we have reviewed so far. Somewhere, up above, I believe we discussed ways athletes can kick it up a notch if they want to.

  • 51 Brian // May 25, 2008 at 2:47 am

Hello i dont get it, if these hgh
stimulators work, why then do doctors and
other fine peoble, still say that they
dont work? if there are no real proof,
where is the proof? if there is real proof
it works why then why this problem? also would i at 29 profit from taking it?

  • 52 admin // May 26, 2008 at 1:53 pm

29 is a bit on the early side.

As to doctors and fine people….. Well if everybody agreed about everything, the world would be a boring place.

  • 53 Nicolas // May 26, 2008 at 7:43 pm

1 more questions for the admins. I was looking for more stuff on the athletic benefits of this product but couldnt find any on your site… So here is my question… at 20 is it WORTH spending the money on and will it assist me enough to reach the peak of my game?

  • 54 admin // May 27, 2008 at 4:37 pm

At age 20, these kind of products just are not going to make a big difference. You are still in the peak hormone zone.

A multi-vitamin and a good green drink will probably do more for your health than any sports supplements.

  • 55 Nicolas // May 27, 2008 at 10:24 pm

If they do not assist much, whats all the hype about then regarding the hgh in sports?

  • 56 admin // May 28, 2008 at 7:07 am

  • 58 admin // May 28, 2008 at 5:20 pm

Secretagogue Gold hasn’t been around for 10 years but I remember at least 3 years but it could be longer.

Various kinds of hgh products have been around for over 20 years and I have never heard of any serious comments of negative side effects. However, everyone can react differently to any one product.

I always suggest that people pay attention to the baselines of their health. Things like blood pressure, pulse rate etc. If you see any negative changes for you, stop.

  • 59 susan // May 29, 2008 at 11:17 am

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our experiences. I imagine every one would have different sensitivity level. So would you recommend gradual/slow initial dosage level for those of us who are very sensitive, possibly even skipping few days between two packetes initially? I am 49 and started trying this product as a guinea pig before having my father (over 85) trying it. But the positive effects are so dramatic (greater performance during my workout, sense of well being, and motivation level, etc.) only after two packets/days that I wonder if I should take it slowly.

I am also curious if one needs to increase the dosage level (in order to get comparable effect) after long term use.

Is there any one who had used this product for over a year and then suddenly stopped cold turkey? What happens then?

Will Secretagogue Gold help to increase or decrease the risk of cancer? Perhaps this is an individual dependent question.

Again, thank you for this forum.

  • 60 Curtis // May 29, 2008 at 2:33 pm

I am 31, active, healthy. Just want something for myself and 41 year old fiance, also healthy. I do spirulina in the a.m with Q10. I would like to add something like the Secretagogue at evening before bed. Should I take it alone, or suppliment it? Only looking for anti-aging effects, not muscle building. Thanks for the info!

  • 61 Curtis // May 29, 2008 at 2:51 pm

Can you get this stuff in bulk? Or do you have to get 100 orders of individual 30 pack boxes?

  • 62 admin // May 29, 2008 at 4:49 pm

    Curtis,

I don’t see any need to supplement it with anything extra.

Off hand I don’t know of anyone who sells it in bulk. There might be a few online retailers that give a discount for multiple box orders.

The best bet might be to negotiate with a local supplement retailer.

  • 63 admin // May 29, 2008 at 5:13 pm

    Susan,

Always error on the side of caution. However, some of the effects are not quite as noticeable once you are used to taking the product.

I don’t see a big need to increase the dosage after long term use. Cycling is designed to help the product work better over time.

There is kind of an s-curve effect. The benefit gains will not seem as great further down the road but you are making progress or maintaining at a higher level.

When you stop taking it you will have a bit of a reverse s-curve effect.

We are basically doing this to increase our health and well being until the scientific geniuses come up with something even better. That looks to be 5 to 10 year from now.

Ohhh! The big C thing. We are going to be posting more on this but for now we’ll just give the short version.

If I had cancer, I would not take prescription hgh or hgh supplements. Just to be safe because there is not a medical consensus.

Otherwise, my personal opinion leans toward the camp that says increased hgh levels can help protect against disease. This is for responsibly increased levels not for people who are trying to see how high and fast they can jack up hgh levels.

  • 64 susan // May 30, 2008 at 8:30 pm

My father had been free from lymphoma for over six/seven years. Because of his recent lethargy, lack of interest in doing anything (simply staying in bed most of the time), losing much of his appetite, and eventually not being able to get up from the bathtub (from being so frail), that instigated my attempt in searching for something that might help to put some pep and strength back into his life. After just one packet of the Secretagogue Gold, he is getting up more, started to listen to his favorite operas and exercising again, having better appetite, and even smiling….I think we may have just found a way to buy him few more years on earth….due to your words of caution, perhaps we will reserve the use of this product only when he gets really frail and down.

  • 65 Jessica // Jun 1, 2008 at 6:54 pm

Question on the other end of the spectrum. My 14 year old step-son has been on the borderline of receiving hgh injections several times. Now it looks like it isn’t going to happen. I don’t know the exact numbers, but his hgh levels have been quite low for the last 4 years. He is 4′7″ (with a dad who is 6′4″), commonly gets mistaken for a 10 year old, and struggles with low energy. He plays some sports, and when he works out he clearly feels better. Whether or not it would change his final height, it would be really excellent if stacking for hgh meant he didn’t have such a battle with such low energy.

Would you supplement your kid with something like Secretagogue Gold in this situation?

  • 66 admin // Jun 2, 2008 at 12:11 pm

Using the disclaimer that this is a personal and not a medical opinion,

There is nothing in this product that would be harmful to a 14 year old. So trying a box and seeing how it makes him feel with careful monitoring, should not be a problem.

A good chlorella product might also be a good idea.

  • 67 Jessica // Jun 2, 2008 at 6:40 pm

Thanks. Also, thanks for the great site. I really appreciate the work you’ve put into it. Like the previous writer, I’ll try it out on myself first. I’m 34 and a semi-serious field sports athlete interested in focusing on my power and sprint speed.

  • 68 Steve // Jun 5, 2008 at 1:09 am

I would so love to purchase this product and I have tried ordering through the two websites that you mentioned but neither of them ship to Australia. Can anyone help me with this. Thanks for all the research you have made available, its the best HGH site on the web by far. Cheers.

  • 69 admin // Jun 5, 2008 at 9:01 am

    Jessica,

    That is a good idea.

    Steve,

Australia has some different rules than the USA. It used to be that they did not like products that combined herbs with amino acids. I don’t know what the current rules are. If I run across a firm that ships to Australia I will post it.

Just received my secretagogue gold. Took it last night and swear I felt more energetic today but I am wondering if it is placebo or the effect of this supplement. A few qusetions:
    1. I am a 51 year old female and run 15-20 miles per week. I also do light weights. Is it necessary to do the strength training before bedtime?
Do I need to start cycling in the begining or should I take this continuously to build up levels?
I started taking this due to fatigue and just feeling like age was going to start becoming a factor in my well-being.
    When do optimal results show?

  • 71 admin // Jun 5, 2008 at 7:20 pm

Anything to do with strength training is a personal choice.

You start cycling from the very beginning.

Optimal results show up in 3 to 6 months.

Hi guys. I am 24 years old and with a auto-inmune condition very similar to Lupus. Because of the pain that I have all over my body I haven’t been able to do exercise for over 8 years now ,because of that, my muscles are extremely weak and wasted. I would lke to know if Secretagogue Gold can help me gained some strenght back, to have a better looking body and help me in my overall health. Also it would be very helpful if you can tell me if taking this kind of supplements can increase the probabilty of me getting Diabetes or another kind of disease that a lot of sites claim that you can get by using this kind of products. Thank you for your great help and concern for all the people out there that wants to get a better health.

  • 73 naushPD // Jun 6, 2008 at 1:40 pm

Hi!, I’m so glad to have found this board. Can someone in their mid 20s try hghr? I recently ordered Longevity, If i had seen this page before I would have most definitely ordered secretagogue gold.

I’m a very active person, work out more than 4 times a week, eat very carefully, but sometimes get real lazy and won’t go to the gym for a week and start eating BURGERS. lol. anyway,,,, i’m into my healthy lifestyle at least 9 out of 12 months a year so to speak.

I suffer from eczema and recently my skin (especially face and back) would break out a lot which never ever happened before. I learned it was due to hormonal and stress related issues but I’m trying to take supplements like zinc, vitamin A and C for that. But because of age increase I feel like I need to be very careful with what I eat usually and work out so much in order to maintain a good body. Before this it wasn’t that difficult. I’ve also noticed that my skin healing takes longer for any prob than it would before. Ive realised that just after 25 your body starts showing signs of hgh lowered gradually.

Anyway, cutting a longer story short now :) I want to try longevity, read all about the cycle and all. Also that best time is probably to take before bed. My only concern is, at my age, should I try a different cyccle like 3 days a week? Also, is there going to be any side effects?

Any response and all comments (polite one ;)) welcome. :D

  • 74 admin // Jun 6, 2008 at 3:33 pm

    Isariel,

We really can’t get into providing such specific medical advice but someone else might come along and make some comments.

We would advise that if you try such a product. go slow and monitor yourself carefully.

For people in general, proper use of hgh supplements probably does not increase the risk of diabetes. Most people I talk to actually think that it lessens the long run risk.

    naushPD,

Once again, we can’t get into the specific medical details.

We would give you the same advice of going slow and monitoring yourself carefully. I would say take it for one day and then wait two days. Up it one extra day at a time and take two day breaks. If you notice any worsening of your eczema, stop immediately.

Most of these products are not going to do a whole lot for people in their 20’s. Individual results will vary.

A personal opinion side note: I know of people with both of these conditions who have reported positive results from taking chlorella and spirulina. Same slow and careful advice would apply.

Oh, we moderate out most of the impolite comments.

  • 75 naushPD // Jun 7, 2008 at 12:46 am

    Thanks you :)

just a couple more questions from the admin.

which one would you rate a better hgh supplement?

Secretagogue Gold or Life Renewal HGH?

also, could you please direct to some online store where i could purchase some at a good price.

    thanks :)

  • 76 admin // Jun 7, 2008 at 11:09 am

Life Renewal HGH still seems to be out of stock.

I don’t know of any specific UK companies that sell Secretagogue Gold. You might want to contact MHP and see if they have a distributor list.

  • 77 Chris // Jun 8, 2008 at 11:39 am

    Hey Admin,

I’m at 25 year old male who goes to the gym 3-4 times a week religiously and am in pretty good shape but wants to gain 15-20 pounds of muscle, and maybe lose a little fat at the same time. Will Secretagogue gold or Secretagogue One or Life Renewal HGH or even GH Stack help me in anyway to acheive my goal? Would stacking either OKG on top of Secretgogue gold or any other product, or using a combination of arginine and niacin in a 5 to 1 ratio 30 minutes before a workout on an empty stomach work to achieve this muscle growth and fat loss that I desire? Keeping in mind I’m only 25? Is there anything a 25 year old can do?

ps: you guys are doing a great service to the general public and I commend you. Using your site has actually helped me dodge a 400 dollar GHR 1000 bullet earlyier today.

pps: at 25, are there any products on the market that can help me achieve my goals, and if so what are they?

Thank you Admin, your hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated, and hey if you ever are in need of a lab-tech to for concentration analysis using HPLC instrumentation for your upcomming studies give me a shout (I’m certified).

    Highest regards,

    Chris Bourdages

  • 78 hgh truths // Jun 8, 2008 at 4:07 pm

First off, glad we helped you dodge a $400 bullet. One of our main goals is to help as many people as possible not waste money on bogus products.

Despite what the sports nutrition folks want to tell you, there really are no miracle muscle building products.

At 25 you can try all of the different things you mentioned. They will not hurt but the beneficial results will probably be minor. Using extra aminos will help the kick but how much it does for you depends on where your personal hormone levels are.

  • 79 chris // Jun 8, 2008 at 7:36 pm

    Hey Admin,

you couldn’t recomend any products or stacks that would produce major beneficial results for a 25 year old looking male who is looking to build lean muscle and loose weight could you? also, just to be clear, a 25 year old male (like myself) shouldnt waste money on hgh products because they wouldnt do anything correct?

    thanks,
    again you guys rock

  • 80 naushPD // Jun 9, 2008 at 12:30 am

    Hello again,

I was just trying to find some online store with the best price, I read in the review above where you have mentioned that this product maybe found for $44.00…. I can’t seem to find it anywhere for less than 54/55 :(

Could you PLEASE advise what online store is offering that price?

    Thank you in advance.

Also, all your advise is greatly appreciated :)

  • 81 admin // Jun 9, 2008 at 8:04 pm

    Chris,

Really nothing that is going to give the big kind of results. The products are not a total waste of money but a 25 year old can’t get the same percentage increase in results that a 40 or 50 year old would see.

There would still be some results for a 25 year old but a good protein powder combined with a more effective mix of workouts would probably do better.

You will probably also end up being a much healthier 40 year old than the norm. Just a question if you are ready to do it on the long term investment plan. most 25 year olds aren’t.

    naushPD,

The best price we currently know about is on Amazon. A friend just recently paid $40.19 direct from Amazon. Wonder if they read our reviews?

We should probably be ambitious and put our Amazon associate link in here. I don’t think there is anything sleazy about getting 4% from something people are going to buy anyway. Do you?

  • 82 Eric // Jun 11, 2008 at 4:35 am

    Hi,

Im a 33 yo male who just began taking this product a week ago. I seem to be feeling the benefits almost immediately. Is this all in my head or do physiological changes happen within the first week? Also, I recommended this product to my 63 yo mother, who is in excellent health. Should she see as many benefits as a 40-50 yo? Thanks in advance for your reply.

  • 83 admin // Jun 11, 2008 at 8:39 am

    Eric,

Some of the initial effects are in your head, physiologically. Generally speaking it is usually a calm sort of energy.

When you first start taking a product you do notice some effects the first week. The second stage is that you get used to these “surface” effects and it might seem like nothing is happening. The third stage is when you start to notice the deeper more long lasting effects.

Your mother would probably see greater effects than 40-50 year olds because she would be starting from a lower hormone level.

The best thing to do is to contact the company, Maximum Human Performance ( MHP ), directly and ask if they have a European distributor.

  • 86 Blair // Jun 13, 2008 at 8:33 pm

Admin…I have been doing some research on supplements that can help me trim up and build lean muscle. I want to get your thoughts on a stack that I just started trying after doing some searching. L-Carnitine (1g three times a day), Green Tea extract (500mg three times a day), Caffeine (200 mg twice daily), Forskolin (30 mg twice daily), Creatine (5g before and after workout), Fish Oil (2g twice daily), and 2 scoops of Optimum Nutrition whey protein (twice daily). I figured that taking the ingredients in these amounts would be more beneficial than taking a pill that has a combination of these ingredients in smaller amounts. Am I on the right track?

  • 87 Cathy // Jun 15, 2008 at 3:59 am

Wanted to thank you so much for your site. It is a new favorite of mine and I find I am back here almost daily to read new posts.
Started taking secretagauge gold two weeks ago and I am feeling a sense of well -being and energy. My sleep, always a real problem is so much better.
Is there anything else you would generally recommend for a 51 year old woman who eats well, exercises and is on no medication?

  • 88 admin // Jun 16, 2008 at 8:27 pm

    Blair,

I am currently enjoying getting my resveratrol the french way, from a nice bottle of Medoc. Not quite in the mood to be able to wrap myself around diet stuff but I’ll give it a quick shot.

L-carnitine is good stuff. Subtle but helpful….. I like my green tea by the cup not as a extract…. I prefer my caffeine to be as espresso…Never been hugely convinced about large amounts of creatine for lean muscle……Fish oil is good stuff….I enjoy protein powders that have multiple sources of protein that digest over different times. They seem to be more energizing and good appetite suppressants.

  • 89 admin // Jun 16, 2008 at 8:29 pm

    Cathy,

The best results are actually still two to five months away.

Chlorella and spirulina are always really good bets and a good full spectrum anti-oxidant never hurts.

  • 90 James // Jun 18, 2008 at 12:04 pm

This site is very helpful in my research about HGH. One question, I am a 25 year old football player and I currently run the 40yd dash in 4.5 seconds and thought that HGH would help me run faster and get me down to a 4.3. Would this product help my speed or would any HGH product help me run faster?

  • 91 admin // Jun 18, 2008 at 2:19 pm

I seriously doubt that any hgh product is going to help you run faster.

I will return my box of secretagogue gold when i receive it

  • 93 admin // Jun 30, 2008 at 10:41 am

It is very easy to recommend because we are talking about vitamin supplements.

You are talking about the side effects of the over use of injectable hgh. The side effects of human growth hormone abuse experienced by some bodybuilders.

We are concerned with the much subtler benefits derived from dietary supplements.

Even when we talk about using prescription hgh, we are talking about the responsible use in small dosages by informed and educated adults.

Guess we are now forced to finish the side effects posts.

  • 94 Kevin // Jun 30, 2008 at 8:17 pm

Has anyone ever taken a before and after blood test to see how much,if any HGH is produced by the body by using this(or any other hgh releaser) product?

Thank you for the fast commentary about the side effect

  • 96 admin // Jul 1, 2008 at 3:12 pm

    Thank you,

  • 99 admin // Jul 5, 2008 at 4:12 pm

    Carol,

I think it could. I know of people with low thyroid who have taken hgh supplements and are happy with the results.

Since you are taking medication, start slow and monitor yourself well. If you have an open minded doctor, talk to them first.

  • 100 Matt // Jul 5, 2008 at 5:19 pm

I have been doing a lot of research on the hgh products and have been mostly been looking for height increase and muscle increase. The main thing I want is height and some of the hyped products say it can happen. Obviously I am skeptical and after reading all of the posts on this site I really doubt it. Im 18 and I figure I could just order the ghr1000 or genf20 and then return it before my 60 free trial is up. Do you think I should even waste my time? Is there some other product out there that would help me add some inches before my growing is over? thanks

  • 101 hgh truths // Jul 5, 2008 at 9:09 pm

It would be a total waste of time and money. There is NO PRODUCT that will help you grow taller.

  • 102 admin // Jul 5, 2008 at 9:16 pm

    Matt,

I should take this a step further. Growth hormone deficent children probably only see an increase in height of around 3 inches after long term treatment with prescription growth hormone.

  • 103 Dan // Jul 6, 2008 at 2:34 pm

If hgh doesn’t do anything for athletes, then why is it illigal?

  • 104 admin // Jul 6, 2008 at 3:55 pm

    Hgh isn’t illegal.

Distribution of pharmaceutical human growth hormone to people who do not have a prescription is illegal.

The dietary supplements such as Secretagogue Gold are just that, dietary supplements.

  • 105 Dan // Jul 6, 2008 at 5:17 pm

Oh my fault, what I should have said was banned. If it doesn’t really give a competitive edge, howcome sports test for it, and crack down on those who test positive on it?

if i could please some more questions,
does this secreta gold thing have amino acid complex, and would that be also good to supplament it? i heard that all amino-acids are in meat, i eat a lot of meat and normally healthy food, do i need amino acids?
also do you think this thing would help me: “Optimum Nutrition Pro Complex APS Rocky Road” .
    many thanks again.

  • 108 hgh truths // Jul 8, 2008 at 8:27 pm

    Dan,

Pharmaceutical HGH is banned because it is alleged to be a performance enhancer. In jectable hgh might not do much for a 22 year old rookie ball player but it could be of assistance in prolonging the career of a 35 year old.

When we are talking about hgh not being of much use for athletes, we are primarily talking about nutritional supplement hgh releasers not being of much use to young athletes. Releasers just do not do much for people who are not hormone deficient.

  • 109 hgh truths // Jul 8, 2008 at 8:30 pm

    Max,

At 31 it might be of some assistance.

Amino acids are the building blocks of all proteins. The supplements we are talking about here are different than the food that you digest.

The product you are talking about is a protein supplement. Protein is always helpful if you are trying to build muscle. We do not review protein supplements.

  • 110 Sammy // Jul 16, 2008 at 1:18 pm

have you reviewed Promino plus yet? seems similar to Secretagogue Gold.

  • 111 hgh truths // Jul 18, 2008 at 12:02 pm

Promino Plus is inferior to Secretagogue Gold and has one of the worst supplement facts labels in the industry. There is a review coming soon.

  • 112 Jeff // Jul 18, 2008 at 8:35 pm

Wow, this has been quite a find and quite a read. So based upon your reviews it sounds like you’re saying that 1/4 serving of Life Renewal combined with Secretagogue Gold would make a close to perfect supplement (an “A” by your standard)? Did I understand correctly?

Secondly, is there any risk of conflicting ingredients or over-dosing if I’m currently taking a multi-tablet packet supplement such as GNC’s “Men’s Energy Vitapak”?

And lastly, I’ve heard that it is a good idea to take a good broad-spectrum antioxidant supplement when using products such as these. Do you concur and do you have a product that you would recommend?

Thank you so much for this valuable website, information, and all of your time to keep it going.

  • 113 hgh truths // Jul 18, 2008 at 9:23 pm

    Jeff,

You understand correctly. That extra push of more amino acids lifts it over the top.

I do suggest that you try Secretagogue Gold by itself first. That is enough for most people. Maybe test the boost in the second or third stage of the cycle.

The energy pack is one of those everything but powdered kitchen sink extract products. However nothing is in real large quantities. Probably nothing would conflict but take each separately and then start mixing so that you have a baseline experience as a basis for your own judgement.

Huge fan of antioxidants. I spread my antioxidants around. It is fresh berry season so I am getting most of them the old fashioned way. Piled on ice cream.

The most frequent supplement I consume is alpha lipoic acid which boosts up the whole antioxidant chain reaction.

  • 114 Jeff // Jul 18, 2008 at 9:47 pm

    HGH Truths,

Thank you for such a quick response and for the useful advice. I promise these to be my last few questions as I value your time and opinion.

Might you be willing to recommend a good multi-vitamin/mineral supplement that is more “focused” in providing the essential nutrients and that would be a good companion to Secretagogue Gold?

Also, are you familiar with “Uber Greens” from Heartland Products and what is your opinion of it as a “green-food” supplement.

  • 115 hgh truths // Jul 19, 2008 at 8:08 am

    Jeff,

I eat a pretty good diet so have not been worried about multi-vitamins. A trade show vendor gave me a few bottles of Source Naturals Mega One. Seems to be OK but anything that is not overloaded with all kinds of herbs and things is OK. Stick to something that is more straight vitamins and minerals.

We are huge believers in green food supplements. “Uber Greens” looks to be a decent product. Once again avoid the green products that stick in piles of extra herbs.

Before somebody gets the idea that we are opposed to herbs we better expand the subject.

Herbs Good. Herbs in daily supplements bad.

  • 118 hgh truths // Jul 23, 2008 at 7:40 pm

    Sylvain,

You are stimulating things in your body. Both hgh release and an increase in dopamine levels.

Most people report better sleep but some people have more active dreaming. Everybody is different. If you are not experiencing any serious negative effects then just flow along for a while and see how it goes.

There might be a chance that this is not the right product for you. A small percentage of people do not respond well to dopamine increase.

If things do not settle down by the end of the box then try something different next time.

Thank you very much for all your ratings. I too have tried a couple of the “F”’s and wasted money. I am now order the B+ product and look forward to the opportunity to maybe see some results. I am a 48 yr old woman, quite active, but just want a boost to help slow down the agining process and feel more energy to workout more. Thank you for your site!

  • 121 pat // Jul 27, 2008 at 8:42 am

    thanks !!!

can you post the optimal HGH stack?

    supplements & dosages ?

    thanks again

  • 122 hgh truths // Jul 29, 2008 at 4:01 pm

    Nancy,

    Glad to be of service.

    Pat,

We could design dozens of optimal versions. We eventually will talk about all the individual ingredients and dosages.

  • 123 kami // Jul 31, 2008 at 7:32 am

First off, thanks for the great site.

I’m curious about the stak I am taking. In the morning I take Animal Cuts and Animal Pak. At night I takesecretagogue Gold. How do these stak up on paper? My body acting normal with increased energy of course. I just don’t want to harm something internally. Thanks for all your help.

  • 124 Nancy // Aug 2, 2008 at 8:19 am

I am taking Secreatagogue Gold. Is there a reason it is advised to take at night versus taking on an empty stomach first thing in the morning? Also, If I split the dose and take half in the morn and half at night, would that be less effficient?

I am still trying to get Life Renewal HGH r by Reunion Health but they are always out of stock and I can’t find another source to purchase from.

  • 125 hgh truths // Aug 2, 2008 at 11:30 am

    Kami,

I just looked quickly at both Animal Cuts and Animal Pak. So this is just a first impression opinion.

Animal Cuts - At least they semi-disclose the ingredients. This is just another diet pill with a lot of extra stuff added on. Of course you would be feeling more energy because this is just basically low grade speed. It appears that a number of the extra ingredients are just there in label dressing amounts.

I am not a huge fan of diet pills. I also don’t think that this is a great product for cycling 3 weeks on and one week of as they suggest. Since I don’t know your goal in taking Animal Cuts, it is hard to say more. Plus the whole discussion about diet pills and how to take them properly could fill several blog posts.

Animal Pak - A lot of the comments about Animal cuts also apply here. There are some good ingredients combined with some window dressing. The case of an over designed sports supplement.

There are a few ingredients in Animal Pak that lead me to say that this is NOT a good product to take daily.

If one of my friends from Muscle Beach asked me about these products, I would probably tell them that these two Sports Supplements have good potential as a week before competition aids. Then I would want a report on the effects they experienced.

  • 126 hgh truths // Aug 2, 2008 at 11:48 am

    Nancy,

Taking an hgh supplement on an empty stomach right at bedtime is the best. This is because it stimulates an increased hgh release during the sleep cycle which is when the most hgh release natural occurs. Your body is also in a better state to make full systemic use of the hgh that is released.

Second best would be on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Don’t eat or drink anything other than water for the next 30 minutes.

A split dosage is not as good as either of the other two choices. I only suggest this to people who are extremely sensitive to the effects of a full dose.

A month ago the Life Renewal people said that they would have product in a couple of weeks. I will attempt to check with them.

Also, don’t worry about taking extra amino acids until you get through at least the first month with Secretagogue Gold. You might find that does the job all by itself. More is not always better.

This is a fantastic, informative site. Thanks for all the hard work.

Question: You mentioned you take alpha lipoic acid. I’ve heard nothing but positive things about taking a supplement. How much do you take daily and is a product you would recommend.

    Thanks,
    Kurdt

  • 128 hgh truths // Aug 4, 2008 at 7:07 pm

    Always happy to help.

Both bottles of alpha lipoic acid I have contain dosages of 100 mg.

There is already some in Secretagogue Gold but we do not know the exact amount.

I am a 48 yr old female and taking truwell hgh gold and it is giving me energy and I feel life in myself again. I also am taking DHEA, Pregnonlone, B5, magnesium, Sylmarian, and vitamin E for adrenal fatigue. I also take a supplement that has Alpha lipoic and acetyl-l-carnitine w/biotin for healthy cell function. Am I way overdoing it? Is the dhea and pregnonlone doing the same as what the hgh would do? Thanks

  • 132 c.j. // Aug 11, 2008 at 2:15 pm

Wondering about a product called Chrysalis. It has been getting stellar reviews both from those taking the supplement and from various talk show hosts. What do you think?

  • 133 hgh truths // Aug 11, 2008 at 6:20 pm

    Renne’,

Dhea and pregnenolone are not the same as hgh and do not do the exact same thing. Both dhea and pregnenolone are adrenal hormones that are further down the hormone cascade than hgh. Theoretically, hgh stimulates an increase in both these hormones if that is what the body needs.

Taking too much dhea and pregnenolone can actually increase adrenal fatigue. So watch your dosage and do frequent cycling.

Truwell hgh would merely rate as an OK product. Secretagogue Gold is at least twice as good.

  • 134 hgh truths // Aug 11, 2008 at 6:29 pm

    c.j.,

I think it is crap. The company that markets it is not even willing to list the ingredients or show the label on its product page.

Enough people have asked about it that I think we will whip of a review.

  • 135 Steve // Aug 11, 2008 at 9:37 pm

What have you heard about velvet antler, and is that something I could take with HGH supplement? Do you think this would help a 32yr old man trying to become a long distance runner, and get back in shape?

  • 136 hgh truths // Aug 11, 2008 at 10:09 pm

    Steve,

Velvet antler is just that, the velvet scrapped off a deers antlers. Huh?

It gets a lot of promotin but there is no solid research on whether or not it really does anything.

  • 137 Steve // Aug 12, 2008 at 8:03 am

So is Secretagogue Gold a good thing for my goal, or is it a waste of money?

  • 138 hgh truths // Aug 12, 2008 at 8:14 pm

    Steve,

At 32, you are at the beginning stage of when these products work. Everybody is a little bit different. My best advice is buy one box and try it. Find out for yourself if it helps you or not.

At the very least it should give you at least your money’s worth in health benefits.

  • 139 Sylvain // Aug 15, 2008 at 7:57 am

Hi thank you for those unbiaise review .I have been taking secretagogue gold now for 4 weeks ,after 3 week i began to sleep better ,i gpt more energy and my cardio is a lot better .My question is i will be working night shift pretty soon(midnight to 8 in the morning)when will be the best time to take secretagogue then Thank you

  • 140 hgh truths // Aug 16, 2008 at 8:45 pm

    Sylvain,

Nice to hear that it is working for you.

Those night shifts can be rough. Take Secretagogue Gold just before you go to bed. Whenever that might be.

  • 141 andy // Aug 18, 2008 at 1:48 pm

hi would you happen to know what hgh product OR amino acids that can promote heights?i am 24 years old and dont do smoke (well not anymore) and rarely drink. any advice would be appriectaed
    thanks
    andy

  • 142 hgh truths // Aug 18, 2008 at 3:32 pm

    Andy,

There is no supplement in this solar system that is going to help a 24 year old grow even 1 millimeter taller.

You could spend $50,000 on pharmaceutical injectable hgh and not have any results.

  • 143 A.ray // Aug 18, 2008 at 3:56 pm

    Hi,

  • 144 hgh truths // Aug 18, 2008 at 5:23 pm

    Yes.

  • 145 Sylvain // Aug 18, 2008 at 7:18 pm

thank you for the fast answer alway there to help us

  • 146 A.RAY // Aug 19, 2008 at 8:43 am

Wow, that was a quick response! Thank you. One more question. Can I use this as a recovery drink after my evening workouts or should I get a separate drink for that?

  • 147 hgh truths // Aug 19, 2008 at 9:30 pm

    Sylvain,

    Your welcome.

I’ll take this opportunity to once again beg for all bookmarks and kind mentions on social sites that any grateful readers would be kind enough to give us.

  • 148 hgh truths // Aug 19, 2008 at 9:32 pm

    A.Ray,

The absolutely best time to take it is just before bedtime on an empty stomach. That is not having eaten anything for two hours.

After a workout is just an OK time.

  • 149 Steve // Aug 21, 2008 at 3:21 pm

I am 21 and would like to get a little boost to my athletic ability. Will taking this product do that even slightly or would it be a waste of money?

  • 150 Javier // Aug 22, 2008 at 8:04 am

First off, thanks for all the useful information. I too was going to waste money on a “hgh spray” until I found your website.

Im 25 years old. Hit the gym 4-5 times a week. I do a lot of cardio and I’m planning to add some weight training. I am just trying to get lean.
Would it be a horrible idea for me to buy Secretagogue Gold? I know it won’t have a big effect as I am 25 years old, but even if it is for the placebo effect I am thinking of trying it.
It’s not expensive and I just want to try it out.
I just want to feel like I like I have some sort of edge for my weight loss goal.
    Thanks

  • 151 A.ray // Aug 22, 2008 at 8:32 am

……Yes, but is it as good a a recovery drink or do I need something else?

  • 152 Karendw // Aug 22, 2008 at 12:18 pm

I am 59 yrs. old; post menopausal, with symptoms even though I am taking OTC Progesterone Cream and Phytoestrogen Creme, which seem to help me mentally, but not with hot flashes. Tests showed my Estrogen levels and Testosterone levels almost nil! My question is: I take Calcium/ Magnesium drink (A-B CALM) at night along with Psyllium Husks. Will that interfere with the Secretagogue Gold to take that at night as well? Also, will this HGH product also help increase my Estrogen & Testosterone levels? Thanks for the website! Karen
