The most accessible, most affordable and probably the best human growth hormone program for most people, is the use of natural supplements as secretagogues.
What is a secretagogue? Simply it is any substance that stimulates the human body to release more hormones. These products can be taken individually or in combinations.
These combinations are often referred to as hgh stacks. The theory is that by combining ingredients together you can use slightly less of each and receive a greater benefit.
Injectable hgh sometimes has side effects such as joint swelling and carpal tunnel syndrome. These are generally not side effects of normal hgh therapy but rather the side effects of the continual and intentional overdosing. These are problems encountered by athletes and body builders who are really too young to benefit from true medical therapy.
Fortunately there are no side effects from using nutritional supplements other than good health. Well that is actually the main effect.
Some people might be sensitive to certain ingredients. We always suggest that people start with a dosage that is 20% of the products suggested serving size. Then each day increase it an additional 20% each day until you get to the full dosage. Just an extra safety precaution for people who might have sensitivities to certain ingredients.
There is a very long list of different ingredients that can naturally stimulate hormone release. The list includes many amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins, glandular extracts and herbs.
We are not going to give you a big bulleted list now.
Instead we are going to start publishing a series of articles on each individual ingredient. These posts will include information on the individual dosage that is necessary for that one ingredient to work as a growth hormone releaser.
When you have all this information you will be able to design a program for yourself.
You can probably save some money doing it yourself. Alternatively you can purchase one of the best hgh stacking products at a slightly higher cost. Another possibility is to accelerate your therapy by adding in extra of one or two key ingredients.
We will soon be doing reviews of every hgh product on the market. We will provide ratings of hgh products based on a letter grade.
Stay tuned…. New stuff coming everyday.

Thanks for the reviews but this only leaves me with which products don’t work. What products work?
4 hgh truths // Mar 4, 2008 at 8:53 am
Jason,
Read a few more reviews. So far we have come up with four products that work well. Natures Youth, Premier Hgh, Secretagogue One, and Secretagogue Gold.
Read these reviews and see what you think the best value is for you.
We are hoping to find more good products.

I am reading some reports on the net stating that GABA is a natural HGH releaser.
Some studies out of Milan University in Italy have shown very possitive results with very few after affects.
I see on the net that you need 2000 mg per day to kick start a positive reaction.
Any comment s on this and do you recommend a BRAND we can use?
10 hgh truths // Apr 15, 2008 at 7:55 am
GABA can be a good hgh releaser.
2000 mg is probabaly the minimum level to start at when using GABA by itself. A dosage in the 5 gram ( 5000 mg ) range would be more effective. I believe that was the amount used in the Milan study. That is single dosage amounts not per day.
For you bodybuilders, the hgh boost from Gaba tops out at about 15 grams.
So you can take GABA by itself to stimulate growth hormone release. However, the value as a releaser will decrease over the course of 30 to 90 days because your body can easily adjust to one kind of stimulus. You will want to cycle with some other kind of releaser to fool your brain.
As far as a brand is concerned, any of the major brands are OK.
There are usually no major side effects. You should note that GABA does effect brain chemistry that can shift moods. Most people get mellowed out but from some it can cause a bit of hyper brain activity. Always good to test your reaction to a smaller dosage and work you way up to the larger dosage.

Hi, I recently purchased a supplement from Z-Labs called hgh release. My return warranty runs out in a week…what is your take on this product? I’d like to know if I should return it, and purchase a more recommended supplement.

We have a supplement review drafted for hgh release from Z-labs. We will try to have it up in the next couple of days.

I was wondering if you have investigated GenF20 HGH and found it to be effective? I heard a lot of good things about the product on other sites.
20 admin // May 21, 2008 at 4:43 pm
Read our review of Genf20 HGH and you will see the truth as to why other sites say so many good things.
Going to have to get around to putting a link to the full list of reviews on the navigation page. Meanwhile, just type the product of your choice into the search box in the upper right corner of the page or go to a review on the front page. New reviews all have a link to the big list.

modernaging.com
This is a professional website on reviewing hgh products and they differ in their opinions and they recommend longevity hgh over any other product on the market … why …
22 hgh truths // Jun 1, 2008 at 10:13 am
Simple answer.
It is not a professional review site.
It is a professional pretending to do reviews while selling the recommended products site.
Notice the fake sponsored ads that are made to look similar to adsense ads. See how they all just happen to be identical to same products that they recommend and feature on the homepage.
A subtle fake site but a complete con job.

Hey great site,
anyways I bought some GABA supplements from GNC but was wondering if there is a way to tell whether it’s synthetic or natural GABA. The only ingrediant is gamma-Aminobutyric Acid 750mg. It doesn’t say anything on the bottle that refers to vegetarian or all-natural which makes me think it’s synthetic, which is what I would like to avoid because it’s safer to stick with natural GABA. (?)
25 Jim // Sep 17, 2008 at 7:42 am
In this article, it states that you will be publishing a series of articles on individual ingredients. I am very interested in learning about them, and which ones (and what amounts) will help with some basic anti-aging effects. Will these articles be forthcoming, or have I missed them someplace. I’ve learned a great deal from the reviews, but I want to learn more before diving in. Thank you for all your efforts.
26 hgh truths // Sep 20, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Doug,
Thanks.
Unless the company puts it on the label, there is no way to tell whether it is synthetic or natural. Even if it was natural it would be a derived product.
It is strictly a matter of choice. I don’t think it really makes much difference.
27 hgh truths // Sep 20, 2008 at 2:06 pm
Jim,
You didn’t miss anything yet. We just haven’t had the time to do the whole ingredient series yet. It is moving up the list of things to do.

I recently posted a comment regarding possible negative health effects of supplements that release significant levels of nitric oxide.
It was a neutrally-objective post that referenced peer-reviewed published research indexed on PubMed.
Why was the post deleted?
29 hgh truths // Feb 10, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Randy,
If it had numerous links and/or was long, it could have automatically ended up in the spam folder. We get massive amounts of spam comments and could have very well missed your comment when checking the folder.
We’ll take another look.
30 Randy // Feb 10, 2009 at 7:26 pm
OK thanks, and yes, my post contained links and was also long. I wasn’t trying to put you on the spot, just bringing up an issue to consider, maybe a topic for future article?
I’m seeing more instances of supplement mfr’s putting certain antioxidants in their NO-boosting products to combat the oxidant nature of nitric oxide and its byproducts.
One thing is clear – you guys are responsive to inquiries / comments!
Thanks also for deleting my last name; accidentally posted full name.
31 hgh truths // Feb 11, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Randy,
We have gotten so many request from people asking us to remove their last name from a comment that we know just do it automatically.
I found your post and it is a good one. Just takes a little bit more time than i have right now to write a reply too. I was planning on covering this in a long article that is being worked on specifically about arginine.
32 rks // Mar 5, 2009 at 4:31 pm
The problem I have with GH secretagogues is the NO-releasing effect of the amino acids.
NO is a potent free-radical oxidant, along with its breakdown products, e.g. peroxynitrile.
Oxidative stress at the mitochondrial level is considered a significant factor affecting the rate of biological aging. With that, from an anti-aging perspective, one should be concerned about supplemental amino acids.
What’s your take on this? Will you post an awareness article, perhaps suggesting which antioxidants might be effective at quenching NO and its related breakdown species?
Of all the NO-boosting supplements that I’ve seen, only one (“Shock Therapy” by Universal Nutrition) contains any antioxidants to quench the free radicals resulting from the NO process.
Per the product description: “Since Shock Therapy™ helps your body produce more nitric oxide, you need an anti-oxidant complex to scavenge the harmful free radicals that are released as a result of the nitric oxide process.” BTW, I don’t use Shock Therapy nor any other NO-booster, for the reasons stated above.
At least one study has shown that arginine supplementation actually reduced GH release compared to exercise alone: “Oral arginine alone (7 g) stimulated GH release, but a greater GH response was seen with exercise alone. The combined effect of arginine before exercise attenuates the GH response”:
33 hgh truths // Mar 6, 2009 at 4:32 pm
rks,
This is one of those subjects that could be talked about forever.
Arginine is a big ingredient in all the NO products. There is mostly a balance between NO’s behavior as a free radical and its main beneficial effects. NO dialates the blood vessels which helps feed cells during exercise and increases the removal of the toxic wastes from exercise. Throwing some anti oxidants into the mix never hurts. Some of the better hgh stacks include extra anti-oxidants.
I will add that while arginine can increase GH levels it really is as big a deal as most people selling hgh make it out to be. As a main ingredient the oral doses required are rather large.

Hi. I’m looking for effective way to increase height. I’m Asian (Filipina), I’m 27 already but youthful, 5′3″ 1/2 tall. I want to grow 2 1/2 inches.

Is there any way or effective product for growing taller? I keep doing research online but a lot of products are said to be scam. Maybe this site can give me answer.

37 Sonny // Apr 10, 2009 at 12:00 am
Doesn’t the gamma-aminobutyric acid help you grow taller? I’m 17 and a half, and 5′9″, I want to grow at least another inch or two. I got x-rays done almost a year ago, and my doctor said I still have growth plates. Do you think it’d be possible with this supplement?
38 hgh truths // Apr 10, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Sonny,
Growth plates or no growth plates, supplements aren’t going to make you grow taller. Try reading this book on growing taller: Grow Taller Book They give you eight weeks to try there concepts out and if you then think it is crap, you can get a full refund.

I am in my first month of taking NuSoma from Olympian Labs Inc. You have not review it that I can find. I have compared the ingredients with others on your site and it appears to be a good one. I was hoping you could take a look and give a quick run down as I would value your opinion.
Awesome Site
Thanks for any reply

David,
NuSoma looks to be a middle range kind of product. Appears to be about 30 to 40 % over priced. At least that is the case with the bodybuilding.com discout price.

Here is a list of foods you can eat that include the main Amino acids found in most HGH releaser products.
The main HGH releaser ingredients are usually: arginine, glutamine, Ornithine , Glycine, Lysine, GABA.
Foods containing Arginine:
Carob, coconut, dairy products, gelatin, meat, oats, nuts, raw cereals, peanuts, soybeans, walnuts, white flour, wheat, and wheat germ.
Foods containing Glutamine:
Parsley, Spinach-raw, Fish, meat, beans, dairy products and free-form amino acid and tablets. Cooking destroys the amino acid, so eating more raw foods is highly beneficial. Free-form amino acid powder must be kept totally dry or it will convert to ammonia and pyroglutamic acid.
Foods containing Ornithine:
Meat, fish, dairy, eggs and free-form amino acid or capsule form. Also available as as Ornithine Alph-Ketoglutarate (OKG) which is Ornithine combined with Glutamine. Depletion may occur during pregnancy.
Foods containing Glycine:
Fish, meat, beans, dairy and free-form amino acids.
Foods containing Lysine:
Fish, eggs, milk, lima beans, meat, cheese, potatoes, soy products, yeast, and most proteins. Free-form amino acid and tablet forms. Note: Free form amino acid and tablet forms should not be used for children.
GABA comes in tablets. Choose a high-quality supplement that is standardized so you won’t be over or under dosed. I like Source Naturals or Solaray Brands.
So the above are usually the main ingredients in hgh releasers.
Basically if you eat the right foods, excercise regularily, maintain a positive attitude naturally, and get plent of sleep (so you reach delta deep sleep every night) you will generally have a healthy body and life.
42 hgh truths // May 11, 2009 at 9:17 am
Ed,
That is good information and good advice. However, the amino acids you get from eating have little to do with hgh releathe release is caused by taking bulk amounts of anmino acids on an empty stomach and getting rapid uptake.

Thanks for sharing the info on this site.
By the way are you planning on doing a review of the “Fountain Of Youth HGH Complete” (but unfortunately it has a propriety blend)?
By the way I just bought some HGH Surge from a local store and hope to give it a try (at bedtime) for the next month. I am interested in the neurotransmitter boost and hgh release of the product.
At bedtime I have also been taking “Dream Boost” (they have their own website). Although it is not a HGH product (and it actually has a propriety blend) I emailed the manufacturer and they said the propriety blend is 550 mg Calea Zacatechichi (which was what I was hoping for) which is more Calea than you get in straight Calea Zacatechichi capsules sold at iamshaman.
Anyway I have been taking Dream Boost for over a month and on some nights it does noticably enhance my dreams and I have had a few lucid dreams. But then again it is hard to tell if this should be contributed to the product or just to my normal condiditon because I have always had intense, vivid dreams on and off through life.

hey hgh truths, i was wondering i am taking amino acids, can i take both arginine pyroglutamate and gaba at the same time? they both have to be taken at night. if taken together do they cancel each others effect? thanx
46 hgh truths // May 18, 2009 at 7:09 pm
coocoo,
If you check out the ingredient lists of various review products you will see that ther are a number that combine these two ingredients. They can be taken together and they do not cancel each other out.

Hi, great site!
Looking to get my old zip back at 55, and I have some hope here perusing your info. In an earlier Sept. 2008 post, Jim mentions “In this article, it states that you will be publishing a series of articles on individual ingredients.” You tell him he hasn’t missed it yet.
Can I make the same query in 2009?
If the answer is still “not yet” is this info distributed among the comments in the product reviews, for info mining?
Thanks muchly – you’ve already provided alot. And if I stacked something with the Swansons “Essentials” product, what might be the most useful?

I remember reading something that you posted regarding Green Magic. I am 22 years old. What benefits will I get if I consume green magic? (What is the cheapest place to get this item?) Do you recommend Green Magic? What other product(s) to you recommend for me if I want to extend my youth/great skin?
50 hgh truths // Dec 13, 2009 at 8:11 pm
Armando,
Unfortunately, the biggest source for Green Magic is a 20+ year old MLM company. Do a web search and you can find some distributors who sell it at the distributors price of about $29.
