Grow Taller with HGH

August 21st, 2008 · 44 Comments

We get constant requests regarding information on what is the best hgh product for height increase. We decided we would write a post on the subject and give it its own special category so that people could have easy access to the facts.  Repeating the same answer over and over gets old.

The simple truth is that there is no growth hormone pill, powder or spray, that will help you grow taller.

NADA!  Nothing!  Does not exists!

Sure, the web has hundreds of sites that promise incredible results if you just buy their special magnificent product. Every single one of these sites is a fraudulent scam. A lot of these are just the same group of con artists selling the same exact product under several different names.

The FTC keeps trying to put these people out of business but they just keep springing up with new names.

They don’t even try to sell you a decent product while stealing your money. Most of the products that they push would not do much to stimulate natural release in a 50 year old.

There is no scientific evidence that any known secretagogue supplement will cause an increase in height. It won’t work for young children. It won’t work for teenagers. It won’t work for guys in their 20’s.

Get the pattern here?

So now you might be thinking that maybe you could scrap up the big money and buy injectable human growth hormone. Unless you are a child with a growth hormone deficiency, this won’t do you any good either.

The keyword here is deficiency. There is no scientific evidence that prescription hgh injections have any effect if a deficiency is not present.

Even in children who have low measurable hormone levels the level of benefits balanced against the hgh side effects are questionable. Many do not respond at all to the therapy. Studies show that those who do respond only experience an increase in height of about three inches. This can be after spending $50,000 on injections and medical expenses.

If injectable hgh won’t work what can you do?

Practice acceptance.

A 15 year old still has a chance of a growth spurt or two. By the time age 20 rolls around there is little chances of adding any stature. Height increase after age 25 is very rare.

So save your money. There is no magic pill.

Hopefully we will never have to write about this again.

Well it’s a good thing there are ppl like you to set things straight,
though mentioning viable alternative treatments would be in place here.

For example the only medically proven method in existence today is limb lengthening. A painful and prolonged experience that can add up to 15 cm of proportional height.

  • 2 hgh truths // Aug 25, 2008 at 2:17 pm

    O’Rielly,

We were trying to stick just to our area of expertise. There were a number of other types of products being hawked that looked just as scammy.

Bone lengthening seems like a drastic alternative to me. I think most people would want to avoid anything painful and prolonged. Two words that i cringe at using together.

I can see that there might be some reason to go to that kind of medical extreme.

I’m one of those who’s really wary of hormone manipulation, so I enjoy seeing good articles that strongly caution against their use.

The body has a very complicated, delicate chemical (hormonal) dance and pumping in unusual quantities of any hormone disrupts that dance and just might result in serious issues.

    Nice post.

  • 4 hgh truths // Sep 3, 2008 at 10:50 am

    Greg,

We are not against hormone manipulation. We just think that the marketing of magic pills to grow taller is total BS.

  • 5 Chris // Jan 13, 2009 at 9:56 am

I have read several studies that taking L-arginine Pyroglutamate and L-Lysine, stimulates growth hormone by up to 7-10 times taken at bedtime. If it stimulates growth hormone, do you think it may enhance your height. Obviously, I know that it would not help adults to grow. But maybe adolecents??

  • 6 hgh truths // Jan 13, 2009 at 9:03 pm

    Chris,

The reliable studies were done with older adults. Adolescents don’t respond the same way . If they did there would be a huge market for these products but they just don’t.

i read this article and just wanted to add my two cents. I was 15 and got on HGH therapy to grow taller. Although i was not classified as having a “deficiency”, i was extremely short for my age. I was ridiculed constantly and hated high school because i was the “short guy”, which evolved into deep depression and anxiety disorders (and long term mental therapy can be much more expensive). After two years of treatment i was back onto the average growth curve and got off the injections. Now im 20 and have no adverse or long term side effects (other than being average height). I agree that this will not work in adults and is not a magical anti-aging pill, but to call it all a scam is inaccurate and irksome. This medication has worked for me and a large amount of young people around the world, albeit it does not work for everyone, but many other medications do not work for all people either. Everyone has different reactions to different medications and although some scam artists are selling it for false uses, that is no reason to attack the medication itself. I mean, there is also many cancer medications that work for some people and not others, but calling it a scam because it does not have a 100% success rate is total crap.

  • 8 hgh truths // Feb 10, 2009 at 10:55 pm

    HGH Patient,

I would suggest that you reread the article. We did not say that hgh injections were a scam.

We did say that the supposed height increase pills, powders and sprays are scams.

We did say that the average height increase using injections is not that great but will admit that some people do get above average results.

If you did not have a deficiency then your doctor did. It is illegal, a felony, to prescribe hgh when there is no deficiency.

Your comment would have been more interesting if you had shared exact results.

For all readers we will repeat that the pills, powders and sprays are all scams when it comes to growing taller. There is not one shred of real evidence to support such claims.

    HGH Patient,

I have the same problem, I am 23 now, i have dealt with society and its ridicule of the short and i am willing to take my chances on that, i’d be damned if i don’t try at least.

What kind of HGH did you use, and how did u get it.

  • 10 hgh truths // Feb 23, 2009 at 10:36 pm

    Cameron,

“HGH patient” is talking about results using prescription hgh at age 15 without giving any specific results. At age 23 you are just plain out of the age zone where that has any chance of working.

    Max,

I hope it helps someone also.

I can feel for people who are experiencing dissatisfaction with their height. I just can’t stand hgh scam artists who are taking advantage of this distress.

    ò 250 grams cabbage – High In L-glutamine

    Directions:

Place ingredients into blender and blend until liquid (add water to adjust consistency).
    Enjoy.

Because, i just buy & spectical..
    Thank’s

  • 15 Adam // Mar 30, 2009 at 7:16 pm

HI i would like to ask a question when you said “Many do not respond at all to the therapy. Studies show that those who do respond only experience an increase in height of about three inches. This can be after spending $50,000 on injections and medical expenses.” were you refering to children or adults and children?

  • 16 hgh truths // Mar 31, 2009 at 5:44 pm

    Adam,
We are definitely talking about children. The average height increase for adults will be zero inches.

  • 17 HL // Apr 12, 2009 at 9:55 am

Wouldn’t stimulating the pituitary gland, using a product like secretagogue-gold or secretagogue-one, cause the release of more growth hormone than would usually be released by a 20 year old causing some bone growth?

Great site! It’s so hard to find answers with all the scams taking place…

Thank you for doing us all a service!

  • 18 hgh truths // Apr 12, 2009 at 11:00 am

    HL,
NO, these products just do not move the hormone stimulation curve enough for a 20 year old to do any good. Even children who take hgh shots do not necessarily have much height growth. They usually need to be taking large enough amounts to be right on the borderline of having side effects.

  • 19 stretch // Apr 14, 2009 at 4:30 pm

well u say some truth in ur article many of these pills are a scam . i mean all, BUT, there are ways to grow up- already proven with medical studies, also if u wanna aboid any medical stuff, just google this strecth manual which says u can grow taller etc, i tried and woot it really works no joke, ofc i didnt grow up the 7 inches they promess, but i did grew 1,5 inches which for me was enough, what it does is just corrects the spine posture and u actually gain height.
    cya

  • 20 HL // Apr 14, 2009 at 4:45 pm

I understand that products like, secretagogue gold and secretagogue one, would not affect the natural curve of HGH of a 20 year old but do the ingredients provide extra nutritional value through amino acids and other ingredients that would not be present in a regular healthy diet of a 20 year old person who takes a regular multi-vitamin? If so wouldn’t the presence of these healthy ingredients make it more suitable for a person who has natural growth left to grow faster, healthier, and more?

If these supplements are just a waste of money for a 20 year old then what other supplement can be taken in their place?

  • 21 hgh truths // Apr 14, 2009 at 5:51 pm

    HL,
The supplements won’t hurt you but they won’t do much

Try some kind of superfood product like green magic. Something based on spirulina, cholorella, kamut, etc without a pile of extra unneeded herbs thrown in.
That is for health No supplement is going to help you grow any taller.

  • 22 ariè // May 16, 2009 at 1:32 am

  • 24 hgh truths // May 17, 2009 at 10:09 am

    arie,
No pill or dietary supplement is going to help your growth. If it is genetically programed for you to grow taller you will.

  • 25 Grace // May 25, 2009 at 4:31 pm

I am the mother of three children. Because they inherit my short gene, they all are small. Through the years, I had spend a lot of money tried to help them grow taller,I even thought about HGH injection, but I was afried of the side effect. When I was 13, my mother took me to our family doctor to have HGH injection for a period time, and I am still short. Now my youngest one is going on 15, I am still seaching the magical pill to help them. All I can say is, none of them works for my children as for now.

  • 26 Ricardo // Oct 1, 2009 at 8:10 am

    Hi,
first I would like to thank you for all the info on this website, it’s been a great help in order to understand more about HGH and all the scams on internet. I wanted to post something about increasing your height.
True that there is no “magical” ingredient to make you grow but there I would recommend someone that want to increase height in a few cms to read the book “how to grow taller for idiots”. It’s a great book with streching techniques that will definitely help you increase your height. I bough this book few months ago and I increased my heigh in 2 cms. I am 27 year old portugusese guy and I was 1.74cms. After follwoing their plan for 3 months I increase my heigh by 2 cms. Their exercices are really easy to do and won’t take more than 30/40 minutes a day to do them. Also if you suffer from some back/neck pain this book will be your best friend. this book won’t promisse you 10 cms increase but with the exercices they show you will definitely grow some cms and improve your posture.
    thanks

I know for a fact that adults after puberty are highly unlikely to grow any taller, but knowing that the spine plates won’t close after puberty, wouldn’t HGH pituitary stimulating supplements enhance or add up to the adolescents growing body to gain atleast 2-3 inches as to natural genetic growth during puberty?

  • 28 hgh truths // Oct 5, 2009 at 4:44 pm

    Ben,

    NO.

  • 29 Eddie // Oct 14, 2009 at 4:38 pm

I’m a 19 year old boy i’m only 5 “5, i’ve been following one of those stretching routines a couple people mentioned earlier for about 2 months and i havent seen ANY progress at all, on top of that i’ve been taking a hgh supplement. I was seriously considering taking injections, thinking that i’m still somewhat young so maybe they’ll work

  • 30 hgh truths // Oct 22, 2009 at 7:23 am

    Eddie,
You are past the age when an endocrinologist would use injections but the hgh supplements are just a waste of money.

  • 31 Jason // Nov 11, 2009 at 7:12 am

Oh damn, and I actually thought about getting sytropin…and was feeling really excited about it too….Now I don’t know what to think.
    I”m 18, Asian and 5′7”
If I stretch daily, and eat some good supplements and stuff , do you think I can still had about three inchese to my height?

I didn’t know sytropin was a scam liek you said, but i sort of stil wanna give it a shot..?i mean, i thot it was in the business for a while…and stuff.
so if i try to return it, i wouldn’t get a refund?

like you said, there are many other websites trying to advertise the sytropin. But some of them are like legit hgh websites, just telling us which product works ornot. they talked about other products too, not just sytropin..so yeah..
some don’t even try to sell it, just comparisons…

are there any pplo dat used it and has not gotten any results?

  • 32 hgh truths // Nov 11, 2009 at 1:47 pm

    Jason,
Stretching can sometimes add an inch to a persons height but you are out of luck on the 3 inches.

The comparison sites usually are total scams. Most of them are affiliates of all the products that they recommend so they make $$$ no matter what you choose. It wouldn’t be a scam if they actually

  • 33 joe // Nov 24, 2009 at 3:51 pm

I was wondering is it possible to still grow an inch or two Im 21 years old, and I wanted to know if I took secretagogue gold, and add a stretching program would work? I remember taking one of those hormone testes, and most of my levels of testosterone were below average could this be one of the cases because im short?

  • 34 hgh truths // Nov 29, 2009 at 6:06 pm

  • 38 Richie // Dec 16, 2009 at 5:27 am

Im 16 years old currently 5′7
So None of these products could have any chance or effect on me? The only thing that stands between mean and playing college football is 2-3 inches says ESPN collegate scouting for underclassmen. Are you sure that these scams wont have any result what so ever for someone as old as me? i mean i know it kind of does sounds a little far-fetched but i still want to give it a try. any kind of light shed on this topic would be appritiated thanks. just need some hope.

  • 39 Clyde // Dec 24, 2009 at 7:34 am

    HGH Truths,

Does smoking cigarettes really stunt human growth? Or is that just a medical rumor? And if it is true, by how much would it normally effect someone?

  • 40 hgh truths // Jan 4, 2010 at 3:33 pm

    kate,
It won’t do anything to help a 21 year old grow taller.

  • 41 hgh truths // Jan 4, 2010 at 3:35 pm

    Richie,
None of the supplement products are going to help you grow taller.

  • 42 hgh truths // Jan 5, 2010 at 10:04 pm

    Clyde,
Smoking by pregnant women can definitely stunt growth. Beyond that, I can’t say. However, cigarette smoking is one of the worst things you can do for your health.

  • 43 Jacob // Jan 29, 2010 at 12:54 am

I’m 18, 5′10,” 170 lbs and perhaps a little too image-conscious, but I was wondering what the phenotypical effects of these drug/hormone cocktails were. Having come to trust that they won’t do anything for my height, I really don’t see why I should invest in them. I’m fairly healthy. Do any of these help cholesterol levels? fatty acid levels? body fat percentage? complexion? emotional stability? musculature?

I’d love a concise little list of what I can expect from each drug, as opposed to a grade, which is not indicative of particulars.

    Thank you!

    Sincerely, Jacob
